My journey started in Grocery & FMCG retail in 2002. I moved through the ranks until today, where I am the Group vice president for Big Basket, a substantially large e-commerce company & now part of the TATA group. My experiences have taken me from rural retail to luxury imported goods and creating exciting new products. I’ve come a long way! Over the past 21 years, I have worked in different roles in the retail industry. I now do what I love best: creating and building new brands and businesses. I head a complete portfolio of different businesses/categories, From fine gourmet foods and private labels to health-, beauty- and general merchandise & Product Innovation. In my role, it is my mandate to deal with new product development, challenge design changes, implement regulatory standards, and lead a multi-cultural, cross-country team. I chart new waters daily and do it frugally without ‘burning’ “investor’s capital. I believe we can change how India thinks, be sustainable and drive business growth. I am ‘an entrepreneur at heart’ and a ‘seeker.’ I try to create a ‘wow’ in everything I do and keep challenging myself to innovate. Positive change is essential, and I want to build something that will last beyond my lifetime. In my spare time, I like to play golf, add to my list of travel destinations, and spend quality time with my family. I am blessed with two loving boys. A future goal of mine is to create a mentorship program for start-ups and SMEs to guide them in operating frugally.
