Ramadan 2025: The Rise of Seasonal Flavours, Health-Conscious Treats and Cultural Offerings

Ramadan 2025 is here and brands are thoughtfully curating their product offerings to honour this special month. Sweet and snack companies are incorporating seasonal flavours and ingredients into their products, bringing a cultural touch to their creations.
Interestingly, 72% of shoppers, according to Meta, say they explore different product categories during Ramadan and Eid more than at any other time of the year. This shift in shopping behaviour highlights the growing demand for unique, seasonal treats. Let’s dive into some of the trends that companies are featuring in their offerings this Ramadan.
Innovative Takes on Seasonal Flavours and Ingredients
AToluna and MatrixLab survey revealed that 45% of consumers in Saudi Arabia plan to purchase more dates than in previous years. Similarly, UAE consumers expect to consume 43% more dates and 41% more chocolates and sweets during this period. In response, sweet and snack companies are incorporating leading seasonal flavours and ingredients like these.
From rose water to pistachio, dates and an array of spices, brands are adding these to their products to add creative twists to popular treats.
Thoughtful Packaging and Design
Brands are introducing limited-edition packaging featuring Ramadan motifs such as lanterns, moons and stars. These thoughtful designs resonate with consumers, making products feel more meaningful.
Research indicates that crafting special Ramadan-themed packaging is pivotal in appealing to shoppers, as unique, eye-catching designs can encapsulate the spirit of this month while helping products stand out.
Additionally, a report on packaging trends for the modern Middle Eastern consumer reveals that 86% of UAE residents prioritise sustainability in packaging choices, with 68% emphasising plastic reduction and 57% urging brands to enhance transparency in product packaging. Embracing Healthier Ramadan Offerings
Iftar is often associated with deep-fried and indulgent treats, but the demand for healthier options is on the rise. Consumers are increasingly seeking treats that align with their wellness goals during Ramadan.
According to a 2024 survey shared on Statista, 69 percent of respondents in the Middle East and North Africa said that they tend to have healthy snacks after their Iftar meal. In response, brands are offering products made with organic ingredients, unrefined sugars, plant-based options, low-calorie alternatives and gluten-free choices to cater to health-conscious consumers.
Seasonal Limited-Edition Products
There’s also a growing trend towards premium, high-end treats during Ramadan. Consumers increasingly seek artisanal chocolates, luxury confectionery boxes and handcrafted sweets for gifts or personal indulgences. For instance, many brands offer limited-edition gift boxes, including a selection of chocolates and sweets that make thoughtful presents. Experiential and Interactive Treats
Interactive and customisable treats are becoming a fun and memorable way for families and children to engage during Ramadan. DIY kits, like chocolate advent calendars, are gaining popularity as consumers seek out unique ways to mark this time.
These interactive options tap into the desire for creativity and connection, offering a bonding experience for the whole family.
